What We Do

The Longhope RetreatLearning Preserve is a one of a kind retreat center handcrafted from local river rock and marble from around the world.  Nestled in a hidden valley just below the 3300 acre Nature Conservancy Bluff Mountain Preserve and perched over crystal clear ponds and streams, the retreat is an oasis of natural beauty primarily serving as a place for creative whole-being learning.  In addition, the retreat offers unique camping sites to retreat participants and the general public.  The learning aspect of the retreat occurs in one of three ways.  First, the Longhope educators provides workshops to principals and teachers enabling them to create their own outdoor learning trails and classrooms on their school's existing green spaces. Secondly, the retreat provides a one-of-a-kind learning space for hosting a variety of colleague educators to present their programs for the advancement of education and human development. Lastly, the retreat provides the opportunity for seminar participants to stay on-site to further foster team cohesion while they enjoy amenities such as stream-side camp sites, pond activities, hiking, fishing, and a wood-fired sauna. Additionally, our on-site trout pools provide seasonally available fresh mountain trout for cookouts and we can coordinate catering events and other private group services as well.
